Hi, I'm Janice. I live and work in the North East of England and on the West coast of Scotland. For many years I taught in Primary School until developing ME five years ago. One thing I was still able to do was knit.

I was taught to knit at the age of three (my dolls were the best dressed dolls in town!) Having knitted jumpers etc for myself, my family and friends I began looking for other outlets for my knitting. This was when I began knitting for a shop in Oban which lead to me designing children's jackets and then ladies knitwear. Out of this grew the website craftyknits.

I was always looking for new things to try so I bought wire and beads and began crocheting and knitting jewellery with them. My new interest in jewellery was ignited, there was no stopping me now! Over the last few years I have learned and adapted many new techniques to make lovely, bespoke pieces of jewellery. From this beginning Phoenix Fabrics was born.
